Three days ago, I returned home from my vacation to Munich and Berlin, a total of eleven days, days spent with exceptionally close friends.
It was a fabulous time, both cities are beautiful, it has been more than 15 years since I last visited Munich, I had forgoten of its' marvels, propably things have changed a lot. Things always seem to change a lot in german cities. The BMW Welt in Munich was outworldly, the olympic park a joy to spend some many hours just relaxing on the grass by the small lake.
What can I say about Berlin that I haven't said so far. It's the european Metropole, a vibrating city of everending change and evolution. I am very excited that this time I managed to walk the Karl-Marx Alee, managed to visit Kreuzberg and find corners that I had missed in my previous two travels. I was also determined to climb Reichstag this time, regardless of the silly amount of people that were already in line, and it was worth it. I also managed to get myself an old second-hand P/K mount Tokina 28-70mm, purely an impulse buy.
I am looking forward to December, where I will visit Berlin once more, this time not in summer vacation but during the winter, a scenery I am eager to experience.
Departing and heading back home left me once more with the same sensation of sadness as every time I leave Berlin. Even if I know that in a few months time I will return.
